Hi everyone, my name is Alon Haimovich, I moved to newton MA when I was 12 years old and since then my dream has always been to go back to my home country Israel. Being very active in the Israeli scouts of America I was introduced to the idea of Mechina, from the moment I learned about the concept of mechinot I fell in love with the idea and what it’s all about. Mechinat Galil Elyon offers teens who have finished twelve years of schooling an opportunity for personal development through a combination of studying, hiking, acquiring leadership skills, experiential learning, and volunteering in the nearby area in a variety of fields. Unfortunately the cost of the program is 18,500 dollars , which my family can’t afford. I’m trying to work and earn most of the money by myself but 18,500$ in a few months is a huge amount for a senior in high school who is still learning and studying for school. Everything that will help me reach my goal would be highly appreciated and will not be taken for granted.
