Help Alyssa a 13-year-old Hit and Run Victim
Donation protected
Alyssa, a sweet 13-year-old girl, was a victim of a hit and run accident while out walking Saturday 2/19/22 around 6:45 PM. Alyssa is part of a large and loving family. She is a daughter, stepdaughter, sister, stepsister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend and her accident has affected many people who love her dearly. Due to Alyssa’s critical condition, her family is staying near her bedside to care for and support her. Between the medical bills and lost wages, Alyssa and her family will need help making it through this indescribably difficult time. We thank everyone for your support and prayers.
Alyssa’s current medical condition:
She is in critical condition with a broken pelvis, clavicle, fractured ear, damage to her spleen, bleeding in the head, and ligament damage to her neck preventing neurons from her brain to properly give commands to her body when spoken to. At this time she is unable to respond to commands. She cannot open her eyes, squeeze hands, nor move fingers or thumbs on command. The extent of any potential brain injury is still unknown at this time.
They are currently putting in an IV pick line, which is inserted through her arm and sits directly above her heart to allow them to administer medication as quickly and effectively as possible. This will help prevent them from pricking her many times with different IVs and allows for multiple lines for medication that do not mix well in the same line.
Alyssa is in need of many prayers as she is still going through a very difficult battle for her immediate health. Despite not yet knowing the full extent of the injuries to Alyssa’s brain and emotional state, we do know she will have many months of rehabilitation ahead of her. More will be known over the next few days.
