Help Alyssa age 22, congestive heart failure

Hi my name is Taneasha and I am Alyssa’s mom. I don’t often ask for help as I am always on the giving end , donating and collecting for others . But here I am asking for a bit of help .

On July 6 , 2021 I found my 21 year old daughter Alyssa unresponsive, cold to the touch , clammy and barely breathing. I called 911 , she was taken to the hospital where I watched as her clothes were cut off of her body , and the doctors said we need to intubate her and put her into a coma due to her not breathing on her own.

I watch my daughter lifeless, her blood sugar at over 1050 laying on a table.

As the days go by and tests are ran ,we figured out she had a random blood infection, which made her blood sugar skyrocket . The blood infection made its way into her heart ( endocarditis) was the diagnosis .

 

We had 6 weeks of pic line antibiotics , 7pm, 1am, 7am , 1pm. She was home on oxygen, her body swelling up, miserable but also dealing with her other auto immune diseases gastroporesis,fibromyalgia  and type 1 diabetes. 

After multiple trips to the hospital with high blood sugar, chest pain and swelling ,pneumonia, 750 ml of fluid  was drained from the right lung , sent home again .

After swelling , chest pain up camping , we decided we needed to head to the u where she spent almost 5 weeks total . 

 That’s where they diagnosed her with CHF ( congestive heart failure) . She had retained 15 pounds of fluid in her body and her heart was not working . 

 

 

All donations will be used for necessities, clothing , hygiene, gas money , prescriptions, deductibles, copays  etc .

This has been extremely hard on our family , it’s been sleepless nights with stress  , blood sugars, multiple doctor appointments and the not knowing what’s ahead of us .

The power of prayer has helped and I know god saved her that day with how it all played out . 

 

 

 

The harsh reality is this could kill her

Looking at her  on the better days you would never think  her body is struggling so hard but it’s a daily thing. I love when she has the energy to get ready and dressed up to feel pretty , but most days she’s too exhausted to try .
