Help Alyssa fight leukaemia
Donation protected
Hi my name is Mel and I have the absolute honour and pleasure of being Alyssa Hann’s auntie. Alyssa is a bright and beautiful 16 yo who touches the heart of everyone she meets. Just over a week ago Alyssa was as a student in year 10, played footy, held down a a part time job at Beach Road Wines and had recently received started driving.
Last Saturday afternoon, 30 September, Alyssa was admitted to Flinders Medical Centre with excruciating back pain. Her condition soon deteriorated and she was airlifted to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital where she was fighting for her life. A few days later her parent’s Kylie and Scott were were told the news that no parent ever wants to hear, your daughter has leukaemia. Alyssa was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and is currently receiving inpatient chemotherapy. To say the news has shocked and devastated everyone that knows Alyssa and her family, is an understatement.
Kylie and Scott have dropped everything to support and spend as much time with Alyssa as she fights this battle. Kylie and Scott are travelling from Seaford to the CBD each day to be with Alyssa. They are currently not working as time with their precious daughter is their main priority. Kylie has just recently started a new job and Scott runs his own gardening business.
The plan is for Alyssa to receive a minimum of 2 rounds of chemotherapy and then relocate to Sydney for at least three months to undergo a stem cell transplant.
I am creating this page to raise funds to hopefully ease their burden in some small way. The funds raised will assist them with their day to day living expenses, bills, mortgage repayments and travelling costs.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could assist in one of the following ways
1. I appreciate times are tough and no matter how small a donation, even if it’s your daily coffee allowance, it will go a long way in helping this family.
2. Alyssa has and will continue to receiving multiple blood and blood product transfusions during her treatment. She will also require a stem cell transplant and will most likely require donor cell as she is an only child. Please consider being a blood donor or joining the bone marrow donor registry. Info regarding both can be found @ www.lifeblood.com.au
There will also be a number of fund raising events that will occur over the coming months to further assist Alyssa and her family.
