Help Alyssa Gohra with the fight of her life!

Hello everyone, my wife, Tracie, and I are creating this for our daughter, Alyssa. Six months ago, she started having blurry vision, dizzy spells, confusion, slight memory loss, body aches and just no energy at all. She was going to different doctors to figure out what was happening, and nobody could diagnose the issue. We kept on hearing that it was stress, anxiety or maybe covid. After numerous appointments and with my wife’s determination, we finally found a doctor that would listen to her concerns. Initially, they thought that the symptoms matched up with MS, but our hearts were broken when we received the MRI results. Alyssa has a brain tumor, and her emergency surgery is scheduled for December 15th, 2022 which will be up to a 10 hour procedure at Albany Med. Alyssa just turned 21 three months ago and she will have a long road to recovery, and the cost of her care is staggering. From hospital stays, physical and speech therapy (As the tumor is sitting above her Brain Stem) and treatment also comes bills and your donations will go to help Alyssa on this difficult journey. Alyssa was diagnosed with an Ependymoma, which is a rare type of tumor found in the brain or spinal cord. Each year, approximately 200 new cases are diagnosed in the United States and children are more often affected. The standard method of treatment for ependymoma is surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible without harming the surrounding tissue. Follow-up treatment will be recommended in the form of radiation or chemotherapy. No one should have to worry about finances while trying to fight a fight like this.
