Help Alyssa Provide Comfort for Her Mom

A birthday ask for compassion. This year, I am inspired to turn my celebration into a collective act of kindness, urging friends to contribute to a cause that is close to my heart.

I propose that each person considers contributing just one dollar towards assisting my good friend Alyssa, whose mother resides in Oakland and is currently facing the challenges of hospice care. My friend is navigating the terminal stages of her life. She deserves dignity and comfort in her final days. Furthermore, my friend Alyssa, who is her daughter, is tirelessly caring for her and shoulders an immense emotional and physical burden.

The pressures of hospice care can be overwhelming, and financial assistance, however modest, can alleviate much of the strain that they both experience. A single dollar may seem insignificant in isolation, but collectively, our contributions will culminate into meaningful support that will help cover their basic necessities.
