Hello Everyone. My name is Alyssa McNamara, I am 21 years old and I have Cystic Fibrosis. I’m a single mother, my daughter is 1 years old. My 4 younger brothers came into my care September 2021. I am in the process of becoming a foster parent. I am currently a temporary foster parent since March but I have to finish all of the qualification requirements to fully be a foster parent and get financial help. They are ages 5,10,13, and 15. Mikey who is 5 was recently in the hospital for 9 days due to having Chiari Malformation Type 1 and needing to get surgery. I had covid in January and had a midline placed in my arm due to being severely ill which caused me to loose my jobs. I am in the process of getting another job but with childcare being expensive I am struggling to get one. I am currently struggling with paying bills, rent, extracurricular activities for the kids, and providing needs for the children. I am not receiving any financial assistance for the kids yet. We need to get a bigger vehicle soon as well and it’s been a struggle to save for one. We will also need to upgrade to a bigger place eventually since we only have a 2 bedroom. I spend $60 a week on laundry, over $100 in gas weekly due to appointments, over $150 a week on groceries.
