Help Amanda Dusoe Get a New Accessible Van

What's up, world? Thank you for giving me a minute of your time. For those of you who don't know who I am, my name is Amanda Dusoe. I've lived in Salt Lake City my whole life. I've been a performer here for the past 20 years. I have performed with the Rocky Horror Picture Show for the past 17 years. I've done various haunts around the city. As well as a few independent projects in between. Most of this has been possible because I have independently been able to transport myself from A to B using my own transportation. Since I was 16 years old, I've had my own car.

In the spring of 2023, my van was involved in an accident. This accident had nothing to do with me. I was not involved in the accident in any way. I was not at fault in any way. Unfortunately, at that time, insurance was only offering us the Blue Book price for the van and would not consider the price for any of the adaptive equipment involved in the van. Therefore, they weren't going to give me a price that would allow me to afford a new van. I opted to try to fix my van. It didn't work. And unfortunately, it now sits in my driveway, and it's not functional.

Buying an accessible van is very difficult. They are extremely expensive and hard to get. I would be looking at one vendor in Salt Lake City. It would cost anywhere between $30,000 and $60,000, depending on what's available. And I can't afford that. Unfortunately, at this time, I work a full-time job, but I still can't afford a $50,000 van.
