Help Amanda Fight Against Cancer
At 29 years old, Amanda was diagnosed with Stage II Ewing's Sarcoma Cancer, a rare and aggressive form of children's cancer with less than 200 cases a year across the United States of America. A malignant tumor grew exponentially on her left cheekbone just under her eye that required surgery to remove. The infected tissue and bone marrow on her cheek has now been removed but cancer still remains in her system.
Weeks shy from her 30th birthday on September 1st, this certainly was not the journey she was anticipating.
Amanda saw specialists at UCI in Irvine, California who gave her two years to live. The doctors wrote her a six month treatment plan that included more surgery plus chemotherapy of five different types of chemo for 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday.
In hopes of a better treatment plan, she moved from California back to her home town of Boston to meet with the top tier cancer specialists at Dana-Farber. This institute ranks as one of the best cancer institutes in the world. We her family are very thankful!
As this new chapter of her life is filled with much uncertainty, we are praying for a miracle to heal Amanda into full recovery! Amanda is a painter and poet by profession. Her paintings are hung in galleries across Laguna Beach, Santa Monica and Los Angeles, California.
If you would like to view or purchase any of her paintings, you can find her online gallery here: https://www.amandaslyons.com/shop
Cancer is an intensive healing journey that is also very expensive. She is one of the most giving, thoughtful, funny and loving humans I know. I wish this wasn't happening to her but I am confident she will fight through this and be an even more vibrantly stronger woman than before.
Amanda will use her voice to combat cancer for the silent voices of children who are also battling Ewing's Sarcoma in hopes to bring more awareness to this disease. Amanda loves children and always hoped to be a mother one day. In order for her to fulfill the possible dream of motherhood, she must freeze her eggs before chemotherapy starts.
Please consider a donation to help Amanda navigate these unexpected expenses. Let us come together for this young artist.
Your generosity will go towards medical bills, egg freezing, “life with cancer” expenses, holistic treatments, and igniting the fire of our beautiful bad-ass Caribbean sister.
WE ARE ALL ONE.
Support Amanda kick the fack out of cancer's ass!
Thank you,
The Lyons Family
