Help Amanda get a new kidney
Donation protected
My friend Amanda (Mandie) and her family could use our help. She had a complicated kidney transplant years back and everyone anticipated the kidney lasting much longer than it did. This year (2021) Amanda learned that her kidney transplant is now failing and she has to go through this process all over again. This time is different, her waiting time is 3-4 years and she is already showing signs of needing dialysis.
She is an incredibly strong and an independent person. She approaches these health issues with courage. She's funny, kind and genuine, keeping her focus on Jesus and doing her best for others. Throughout our friendship Angie and I both have been in the hospital with her several times when her health was failing, yet she somehow finds the strength to keep going.

UPDATE: After the Dr's consideration at UT Southwestern, Amanda was not approved for surgery. She was denied surgery due to a medication that somehow was still on her list, that she no longer takes. Just means God has a better plan ahead of her and didn't want her at UT Southwestern. She now has an appointment for a second evaluation at Baylor in Dallas so we need all prayer warriors to lift her up on February 9th, 2022 when she goes in for her full day workup and evaluation.
Now that insurance has approved her at Baylor we have lowered the goal amount. New year, means out of pocket has to be met. We as her friends want to alleviate an already stressful situation for her and her family. While she is going through doctor appointments/surgery/recovery we want to make sure her family is able to concentrate more on her health and less on expenses. We love her and want to keep her smile and laughter around a long time!!
If you or someone you know is willing to get tested her blood type is O positive. She can only take an organ from an O donor I know donating a kidney is one of the biggest most selfless gifts someone can give another person. Everyone will be grateful for either gift.
