Help Amanda Overcome Her Cancer Journey

Hi, my name is Jen Taylor. One of my dearest and sweetest friends, Amanda, has recently been diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. At only 31, her life has been turned upside down. In December, she felt a lump and really thought nothing of it, but to be safe, she decided to get it checked and was officially diagnosed in early January 2024.

At the time of diagnosis, they thought it was caught early enough and treatment would be surgery and radiation. However, she found out in February it had spread to her lymph nodes, and the treatment plan would now include chemo and endocrine therapy. She had a double mastectomy in March, and unfortunately, 3 of the 4 lymph nodes they took were positive for cancer. This meant another surgery after completion of chemo, and then she will undergo radiation.

Chemotherapy meant there would be a risk of infertility. Being a mother has always been an extremely important part of her future dreams. To preserve her chance at motherhood, there was a short window between surgery and chemo where she met with fertility specialists, and they’re successfully harvested eggs for the future.

Chemotherapy started on April 8, and she has just completed round 4. To say this has been extremely difficult and challenging for her would be an understatement. Her bad days are bad, and good days seem few and far between right now. Amanda went from working forty hours a week and living a normal life, to spending most of her days being biopsied, scanned, or meeting with her providers. While no one person’s cancer journey is the same, this has not been a smooth or easy process.

I’m starting this fundraiser to help her defray the enormous cost of treatment. Amanda is unable to work at the moment which has added to the financial toll.

In spite of the tremendous hurdles, Amanda has remained positive. She is grateful for the continued support of family and friends as well as the unwavering support of her medical team.
