Amanda is an amazing young woman who has a talent for lighting up a room with her personality. She is a mother, daughter, life partner, sister and friend to so many. She has touched every one in her life in a profound and loving way. Amanda has always gone above and beyond to help those she loves, dropping everything and asking "what do you need, tell me what i can do" and taking control of the situation to help her loved ones and friends, no questions asked.
The two weeks leading up to Christmas, she experienced unbearable migraines that she explained as feeling like "lightning strikes going through her head". She visited her primary care doctor who said they believed it was some sort of nerve pain. With no relief, she then did a televisit with a doctor who diagnosed her with sinus problems. Monday night the week of Christmas, she was in significant pain and was taken to the hospital. This experience along with others leading up to it were very disappointing. They prescribed her headache medications and let her walk out of the hospital herself, stumbling and barely able to speak, without running a single test. The next morning an ambulance was called to her home and she was taken to a different hospital. By the time she reached the hospital, she had suffered an erupted brain aneurysm and had a stroke. She got there just in time for them to remove a blood clot. In the days following her surgery, she had another mini stroke. She has had numerous procedures since then, and will continue to have them in the months to come. Anyone who knows her, knows she is a fighter and is determined to push forward. She has already shocked the doctors with her determination, but that's the Amanda we all know and love. She is a local hair stylist and has a passion for what she does. The road to her recovery will be long and very difficult. It goes without saying, she will be unable to work. While we know times are hard for everyone, we humbly ask for any help you can give to assist with Amanda's medical bills and day to day expenses as they arise. This will be a huge blessing, that is very much needed to help her family, so they can focus as much energy as possible on helping our Amanda recover without having to worry about how they can pay for the next procedure or therapy lesson.
