Help Amara with her TPLO surgery
Donation protected
Hi, our names our Gary & Aspen. Together we have four amazing furbabies that have become the center of our world. We rescued Amara, a Great Pyrenees mix, from the Humane Society Of The Pikes Peak Region in 2020 after buying our first home. She was a very timid seven month old found as a stray. Amara was scared of the whole world and cautious with many people. Suspecting she was mistreated by previous owners, we took her in and gave her the utmost patience and kindness so she could finally know what it's like to be loved. Over the years, she has found her confidence and grown to be the biggest lovebug, constantly cuddling us or her siblings. She is now over four years old and recently started showing lameness in her back right leg. After several vet appointments, supplements, different anti-inflammatories, and pain medications, we were referred to an orthopedic specialist who finally diagnosed her with a cranial cruciate ligament tear. To get our beautiful girl back to her playful self, she needs a tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO). As of now, the surgery alone is estimated to cost around $3,000, not including the costs of any prescriptions, rehab, and physical therapy she may need after as recovery time can range from 8-12 weeks. It is also likely she'll need the same surgery on her left leg in the future.
We would do anything to keep our babies from pain and suffering. In May we had an unexpected emergency with another one of our dogs, Jinx, and her surgery wiped our savings account clean. It has been difficult trying to get back on our feet after this incident and now with another surgery approaching, we're asking for some help. I attached the estimate below, showing both the low and high end of the surgery costs.
We appreciate any thoughts, prayers, reshares, and/or donations. Anything, truly, anything helps. Excess funds/donations will be given to HSPPR or the hospital performing her surgery.
