Hi my name is Amari Lewis. I am a Wildlife conservation/ Natural science major at Michigan State University. I am involved in several extra curricular activities at MIchigan State such as Marching band, ROTC, and brass pep band. In addition I am a cadet in the Michigan national guard.
This year I received the honor of being chosen to serve as a drum major for the upcoming 2024 season of the Sacramento mandarins drum and bugle corp. As the first African American female drum major for this corp, I hope to use this platform to inspire and encourage other people of different cultures and backgrounds to explore what DCI has to offer. Marching band and music have always been a huge part of growth and development in all aspects of my life.
As you know, every activity requires money to function efficiently. I truly believe that the mandarins are advocating for a bigger purpose.
