Dear Amazon Planet Family and for every Nature Lover & Conscious Traveler,

COVID-19 hit the world hard and we hope you and your family are healthy, safe and economically stable. Here in the Amazon of Madre de Dios, Peru, the situation has become unsustainable for many of us.

As a tourist business we cannot receive travelers and had to close our operations, having no income in the foreseen future. But as a team westayed at the Lodge for the quarantine and have reduced costs to the minimum just to maintain the staff and facilities to make it through until we can reopen.

But it is not enough and WE NEED YOUR HELP!

As our former guests know, we are not the “business as usual” type of business. Our mission is to preserve the Amazon rainforest as we take each traveler into a unique adventure and nature experience within our land and Taricaya Eco reserve and raise awareness that our actions as humans have a deep impact on this important ecosystem and we must reduce them and collaborate towards conservation to mitigate climate change effects.

DURING THIS CRISIS WE NEED YOUR HELP FROM HOME so our mission of rainforest conservation does not stop:

1.Go solar and be more ecofriendly: Before the crisis we installed our first kit of 4 solar panels at the Lodge. We need to reach our goal to become a true ecolodge.

2. We preserve our 45 hectares’ land of rainforest within the buffer zone of the Tambopata National Reserve, through reforestation and wildlife census with camera traps.

3. Fulfill our commitment to help Taricaya wildlife rescue center. Part of our regular revenue used to go to them. At the moment Taricaya isalso in need due to the crisis.

AYÚDA A LA CONSERVACION EN AMAZON PLANET DURANTE COVID

Estimada familia de Amazon Planet y Amantes de la naturaleza y Viajeros conscientes,

COVID-19 afectó a todo el mundo y esperamos que su familia y ustedes estén sanos, seguros y económicamente estables. En Madre de Dios, Perú, la situación se ha vuelto insostenible para muchos de nosotros.

Como empresa de turismo no podemos recibir viajeros, tuvimos que cerrar nuestras operaciones, y no tendremos ingresos en el futuro previsto. Sin embargo, como equipo, nos quedamos en el Lodge por la cuarentena y hemos reducido los costos al mínimo para poder mantener al personal, las instalaciones y resistir hasta que mejore la situación.

¡Pero no es suficiente y necesitamos tu ayuda!

Como saben quiénes ya se hospedaron en Amazon Planet, no somos el tipo de negocio habitual, nuestra misión es preservar la selva amazónica llevando a cada viajero a una experiencia única de aventura y naturaleza dentro de nuestro bosque y la reserva Taricaya, a medida que creamos conciencia de que nuestras acciones como humanos tienen un profundo impacto en este importante ecosistema y debemos reducirlas para ayudar a mitigar los efectos del cambio climático en nuestra especie y el planeta.
