Help Amber Crosby Kick Cancer To The Curb
Donation protected
“Strong women aren’t simply born. They were made by the storms they walk through.” Amber is a person, who, over many years, has weathered countless storms, including a house fire, ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage and a divorce.
As she weathered each of those storms, though she often questioned “why”, she remained faithful and believed that if she continued to love deeply and give of herself, she would not only survive, but thrive.
And thrive she has.
In 2020, after 9 years of working as a professional social worker in healthcare and mental health, Amber opened her own business, a private mental health practice and yoga studio, Ananda Mental Wellness and Yoga. Since its inception, Amber has made serving others, her life’s mission. To that end, she’s donated time as a therapist, time as a yoga teacher and countless dollars to classrooms, athletic teams and other community organizations.
In 2021, Amber met and married the love of her life, Crosby.
Together, they’ve spent their days loving each other and loving on and supporting Barrett, Luella and Emmett.
You’ll often find Amber by Crosby’s side attending events at Saydel High School, where he is the principal. She’s even been known to don the eagle suit a time or two. Amber can also be found delivering baked goods and treats for staff and volunteering in other ways at the high school.
Today, Amber faces yet another storm.
On March 8th, after a routine mammogram, she was diagnosed with invasive ductal adenocarcinoma, a form of breast cancer. Amber and Crosby consider this the “best-worst” case scenario. Hopefully her tumor had not yet invaded other parts of her body.
Due to the tumor’s size, Amber will undergo a double mastectomy followed by a lengthy recovery period. Chemotherapy and/or radiation are also a possibility.
As a small business owner battling cancer, Amber faces the loss of several weeks’ worth of income; her livelihood.
As a family, though they are blessed to have health insurance, Crosby and Amber will be faced with a number of medical expenses that are not covered by their plan. The outcome of this storm is unknown. Despite that, Amber will weather it, just as she has others, remaining faithful, loving deeply and giving of herself. She will gain strength from this that will serve her and others for years to come.
Thank you for taking the time to donate and help Amber kick cancer. Please share this link with friends and family. Please note any unused funds will be used to pay it forward to help others on their breast cancer journey.
