Help Amber Fight FIP or Cancer
Donation protected
Meet Amber. We adopted her when she was 5 years old with a goal: to adopt an older cat since everyone wants kittens.
This month have been rough on us financially. Mike's no longer receiving his workman's comp check, so we are missing at least $1,000 a month of income. To make matters worse, Amber was loosing weight. Being in rescue, we know that any weight loss requires blood work to check for common illnesses like thyroid or diabetes, but if it's worse, early detection is the best chance of survival.
Her bloodwork came back with a high level of protein, which indicates she has either FIP or cancer. We are starting the FIP treatment route, but the medications alone cost over $1,000 for 12 week treatments. If she doesn't gain any weight within a week or two, all signs point to cancer where she will need an ultrasound to see the severity and hopefully will just need radiation treatments. The ultrasound will cost $700 alone and does not include an office visit and the possibility of sedating her which will cost an extra $00 or $200.
If the FIP treatment is successful, she will need to take two 4 kg pills a day for 50 days. They're $10 per pill, so it will cost $1,000 for the duration of the treatment.
I barely ask for help, especially in finances, but we want to give Amber a fighting chance.
If you know Mike and myself, we work hard around the clock to help animals in need. Please help us with a feline close to our hearts.
Thank you in advance. And of course, prayers are also welcomed here.
