Help Amber Hall’s fight with Valley Fever!!!

Amber is 41 years old and from a small town in Paris, IL. She is a single mother of two children: Allison, 19, and Alyssa,17 and recently became a grandma to Finley, age three months. During Christmas break in 2021, Amber and her daughters took a trip to AZ to be with their family. Once returning to IL, Amber started to have flu-like symptoms. Little did Amber know that her Christmas vacation to AZ would change her life forever.

Over the next couple of months, Amber's symptoms became worse. She went to the Dr and ER several times. Each time she was sent home with the regular flu/bronchitis medication. After many ER visits, testing, and hospital stays, it was determined she either had cancer or a fungal infection. Four days after being sent home on an antibiotic, Amber suffered a massive heart attack and underwent lifesaving surgery. While in the hospital for her heart attack, doctors determined she had Valley Fever which had taken over her lungs.

While attempting to recover from her heart attack, Amber's condition continued to decline. Several days later, she had excruciating pain in her lower abdomen. After a few hours, it was determined that she had a perforated bowel, which is life-threatening. She was immediately airlifted to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery. The surgery was very invasive, leaving an 8-inch incision down her abdomen. Amber's condition continued to decline, and she underwent two additional bowel surgeries to re-open the large wound. Amber spent more than half of 2022 in hospitals living on feeding tubes, IVs, and oxygen, requiring 24-hour care. Last month, Amber was able to go home and start therapy on her heart. On October 16th, she was in septic shock due to another leak in her bowel and was airlifted back to Indy. Today Amber is again fighting for her life at Indianapolis St. Vincent's hospital.

Due to this last surgery, Ambers's FMLA has expired, and she has lost her job. Donations will help her support her family while getting well enough to look for work again. Amber loved her job and received her 10-year award right after her heart attack. Any donations are appreciated; if you cannot donate, please help spread awareness of Valley Fever.
