Help Amelia Recover from Life-Threatening Seizures
Hello,
My name is Kori, and I am asking for assistance in covering my 2-year-old daughter, Amelia's, life-saving emergency medical bills.
On January 25th, at 3:29 pm, Amelia stopped breathing after enduring a seizure in her car seat. My husband and I immediately took her out of her car seat, and I began performing mouth-to-mouth to try to revive her in the street in front of our home. She was not responding, despite our best efforts, and we called 911 to get help right away. After what felt like years, and after screaming in the street for mercy between giving my daughter my oxygen, Amelia began getting color back into her skin, but we were not out of the woods yet. While waiting for the ambulance to get there, she began to have a second seizure while in my arms. Little did we know, this would be the start of a very traumatic and long 48-hour journey of fighting for her life. She was quickly admitted overnight for observation after seizing three more times while at Texas Children's Hospital. CT scans were performed, EKGs, blood work, life-saving medicine administered, so many codes....
Doctors believe she had a febrile seizure but are not entirely confident in their diagnosis, which means more tests will be performed in the coming weeks to find answers.
In the meantime, we need your help badly....
I was let go from work three times last year, which took a significant toll on our emergency savings, and we are now one emergency away from being completely drained of our emergency funds.
This is not the first emergency our children have endured in the past six months. We have accrued a lot of medical bill debt between emergency dental surgery, RSV treatments, ambulance rides, life-threatening medication reactions, and more.
We need your help to pay off Amelia's life-saving medical bills of $15,000--- both past and present, considering there have been several in the last 6 months alone.
This was supposed to be a beautiful day. My daughter was coming home from celebrating her second birthday with friends and family at the park to open presents with her Mommy, Daddy, and big sister. Instead, she spent her birthday fighting for her life in the emergency department. She is the air I breathe... and I would do anything for her, including asking for help when needed.
Please consider donating or sharing to get the word around.
Thank you so much,
Kori
