Hey!
My name is Amir and firstly I want to thank you for clicking on my gofundme fundraiser! Currently I am a 4th year physics major, material science & engineering minor attending Hampton University. Throughout my life I have always wanted to attend Hampton University, especially with me being a legacy student (having previous family attend HU) I have always had the desire to continue the legacy of my family. My dream from a early age has been to become a successful Astronomer and dive into the complexities of deep space research. With some inspirations being Einstein, Hawking, and Neil deGrasse Tyson I have had such a passion for the exploration into the unknown, and my final goal being to contribute to the scientific community. Although, this would require a lot of higher education with undergraduate being my first step. I decided to take the leap of faith and attend HU, my legacy school and first choice with it's tuition after aid being around $40,000 a year. Additionally, HU is a HBCU and has a VERY small STEM population with physics only having around 6 students in total within the entire program. I am the only male physics major in the class of 2024.
So far through my college career I have had the amazing opportunity of attending two back to back internships at Brandeis University in Waltham MA via HU's material science program. This internship afforded me the opportunity to collaborate with graduate students at Brandeis to research many topics related to my field. Without attending Hampton, this internship would have not be possible for me and I may have never been afforded this opportunity. Through my research at HU I have also been able to skillfully craft and present two scientific poster at large conventions.

Additionally, in my college career I have amassed a large friend group and even started my own organization at HU with the goal of making a great impact on the students around me. Being a member of HU campus ministry and becoming a licensed minister gave me the experience that I needed to start my own men's faith based organization on campus called FaithTalksHU where my team and I help guide men in life using the wisdom of the bible.

With all of this being said, through my entire college career I have struggled to get sufficient financial help to attend Hampton. School for me is a very expensive cost being upwards of $40,000 per year and my family has had to make SO many sacrifices just for me to have made it to this point. And I am more than eternally gratefully for the support I have received thus far. I am so rooted in the school I am in and while yes it would be possible for me to transfer my senior year, I only have one semester left and to leave my organization, my friends and all the great connections I have made behind would be absolutely heartbreaking. I first want to thank you for taking your time to read this but truly I am in great need of a miracle. I need to be financially cleared in the upcoming weeks to continue to attend HU or they will move me out of my room and I will have to delay my degree. I pray that you would see this need and give what is on your heart and mind. Thank you for all of your help, support, love and prayers. I am deeply appreciative of it all.
