Help Amit and Gal Rebuild After a Devastating Fire

On Saturday night, my best friend Amit and his fiancée Gal returned to their apartment in Holon, Israel, to find their home destroyed by a fire. They lost everything. Amit and Gal are a young couple soon to be married, with their wedding planned for August. In the wake of this tragedy, they need our support to rebuild their lives.

Amit, a 26-year-old IDF reservist, has been serving as an officer in the Yahalom combat unit since October 7th. He has faced immense loss over the past eight months, including the heartbreaking death of four friends during his last deployment in Gaza.

Amit is no stranger to hardship. At 18, he lost his father in a car accident just a week after enlisting in the IDF. Since then, he has shouldered the responsibility of supporting himself, his fiancée, and his mother. Despite his struggles, Amit has always been a pillar of support for others. He has led numerous community initiatives, helping Lone Soldiers and newly married soldiers acquire essential household items, often providing moving services himself to ease their financial burden.
