Help Amit Revive B'ivrit And Her Dream

It’s been a bit of a whirlwind lately, but I’m now able to finally update all of you regarding everything that’s transpired with our location on Cypress ave. I’ve been thinking long and hard about doing this fundraiser, but unfortunately, it has come to a point where I really don’t have a choice. It needs to be done in order for me to stay in business and continue what I love doing, which is serving my friends, family, and community. I also thought I’d share a bit of my experience so hopefully someone else can learn from it and avoid getting into a similar situation.

I was approached by people who wanted to invest in B'ivrit and open a location for us on a property they were already leasing. I’ve been working towards this for a LONG time and was super excited, so we all mutually agreed to the terms and signed our contracts. What I thought was about to be the best thing that ever happened, quickly turned into a nightmare. Shortly after the opening, one of my partners began demonstrating behavior that felt to me oppressive, threatening and abusive. At first, I attempted to disregard the behavior as I was determined to make it work and have B'ivrit prosper. Unfortunately, as time went on, that behavior intensified, becoming more frequent and erratic. The situation became so unbearable to the point that the thing I love doing the

most became a source of fear. I was sometimes even dreading going to work. I hope none of you have to experience what that feels like. Contrary to our agreement, my business partners/investors took money from the business that was allocated towards sales tax, salaries and vendors. After months of lawyers and fighting, I’ve finally gotten away from them, but this debt is now my responsibility and I can’t move forward until it’s paid. They basically left me high and dry, and I’m on my own to make it right and settle everything. It’s important for me to be honest and transparent about my experience and also regarding this fundraiser.

We don’t have to stand for shitty people and shitty behaviors, no matter how hopeless it may feel. If ANYONE is going through anything similar, please reach out to me, I would love to help. There’s a lot of

good out there, but also a lot of terrible people looking to take advantage of others and I have learned some valuable lessons recently which I would be happy sharing.

I’m finally free and I WILL build B'ivrit back up and continue working hard to serve my community.
