Dear friends, family and community
Ammazzacaffe was opened exactly 3 years ago by me (Kelly) and my partner Gary, we have always pride ourselves in our passion for the hospitality industry serving the highest quality food at an affordable price, sharing our genuine love for food and wine . We opened with minimal fund without PR support, hoping by just doing the best we can, words will travel and people will return. 3 years has passed with lots of love, sweat and tears pouring in, we were proud of what we have achieve, from barely 15 customers a night to 150, reconized by the Michelin bib gourmand list and many others. the most important thing is that we have built a strong team that we called family and the most loyal and loving customers.
No one would have predict what would happend next, with the recent COVID-19 outbreak, we were shut down all dine-in service by governtment to ensure public safety and spread of the virus. Within a week, we have lost 70% of our income, we were forced to let go 90% of our staff indefinetely yet governtment and our landlord is not giving us any break on taxes and rent. With majority of our other restaurants friends decided to closed down indefinitely, we have made the decision to stay open, doing delivery and take out on our own, giving our staff roatating shifts to help out in the restaurant. We have see tremendius amount of support by our customers during this time, purchasing gift cards, ordering food directly from us to avoid third party commission, or just simply sending us note of support. However we still find ourself in a very difficult situation and a future full of uncertainty.
With restaurant losing majority of our business, we have made the difficult decision to start this page, to ask for help from the community. we want to be able to go through the next 3 months with fund majority going towards rent, bills and keeping some of our staff employed and continue to be able to restock inventory to remain open; Additionally when funded complete. We will put 20% towards a relief fund for my staff who are all jobless and trying to make ends meet. The most important thing is to be able to continue doing what we believe in and keep serving our neighborhood the best food and hospitality we can, and give the rest of our staff a place to return to once everything is back to normal.
We want to thank all of you for any amount of support you can spare, we understand it is a hard time for everyone out there. There is a light in the end of this tunnel, and we look forward for that day to come.
Thank you
Kelly & Gary
