Help Ammrutha Compete at the WAYC for Australia

Hello Everyone,

My name is Ammrutha, I am 15 year old Archer and I have been selected to represent Australia at the World Archery Youth Championships (WAYC) that will be held in Limerick, Ireland from 3rd-9th of July 2023. As Archery is a self-funded sport in Australia, I am looking to fundraise my airfare and accommodation expenses.

I started competitive archery in June 2017. On top of my school study commitments, I train six days a week–2-3 hours per day during schooldays and 6-8 hours per day during weekends and holidays for all these years, so that I could represent Australia on World Stage. I train outdoors and always stick to my routine no matter what kind of weather on that day. Currently, I am training under Coach Mr Michael Larven at the Adelaide Archery Club. I go to the gym/aquatic centre for strength and conditioning training. All of these are towards representing Australia at the 2023 World Archery Youth Championships, and ultimately 2024 Paris Olympic games. Not only that, but I also want to be the youngest (at the age of 16) female archer to represent my loving country Australia at the Olympic Games. My dad always tells me to be loyal, honest, never give up, persistent and resilient and not to take shortcuts and train truthfully to myself.

I have already represented Australia at the Open level at the 2022 World Archery World Cups in Korea and France at the age of 14 (to my knowledge I am the Youngest Archer to ever competed at the World Cup so far), and this year April I have represented Australia at the World Archery Oceania Championships in Adelaide.

I do not normally post things like this; however, my current situation pushed me to the edge to do so. Competing at the World Archery Youth Championships is extremely important for me – very close to my heart and it is not cheap. I have no funding available for this event. I am asking for financial assistance to help with airfares and accommodation to compete at this event. I am hoping to raise $7500, as this will help me to cover airfares and accommodation.
