Help Amos Hart with his surgery!

My name is Michelle and most of you know me from my work in the rescue world for abandoned dogs. I am raising funds to pay for a life saving surgery for a pup named Amos Hart. Amos Hart was born in my care on October 2, 2022 and adopted out when he was 10 weeks old. He was returned to the rescue I volunteer for because of an unknown medical condition that arose. After many months of tests, we discovered that Amos Hart has a liver shunt. A liver shunt, also called a portosystemic shunt (PSS), is an abnormal blood vessel that bypasses or “shunts” blood around the liver instead of following a normal pathway through it. The liver is vital for building proteins or removing toxins from the blood, so when the liver is bypassed, toxins and waste continue to circulate throughout the already compromised body. This can stunt growth, as well as lead to nervous system problems such as stumbling, seizures, or head pressing. This is a congenital condition that he was unfortunately born with. I have found an amazing surgeon that can perform this life saving surgery for Amos Hart with a minimally invasive technique and the prognosis is extremely successful. His surgery is scheduled for September 20, 2023. If you have ever wanted to be a part of saving a life and rescue, please join me to help Amos Hart get the surgery he so desperately needs. I will be forever grateful....and so will Amos Hart.
