Help Amy Wyss enter Religious Life!

Here are a few words from Amy! I cannot wait to see how the Lord uses her life to bring others closer to Him.

Dear friends,

It is with great joy that I share I have been accepted to the Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma, MI. My journey began before I was Catholic, when I experienced a mysterious call to consecrate myself to the Lord and forsake marriage for the sake of God’s kingdom at the age of nineteen. As a Protestant, I did not know what this meant or what it was supposed to look like, but it was a quiet and constant call I kept returning to. Two years later, I joined RCIA after seeing a close friend enter the Catholic Church the year before. I began learning about the saints and read about religious life for the first time. I had a deep sense this was the call I experienced years before, even though at the time I thought nuns were extinct! The desire to fully give myself to God for the sake of serving the Church grew and I was very excited to find out Religious Sisters still exist.

My desire is to make a joyful offering of my life, giving up a family of my own, my possessions, and my career to radically serve people who are in need. The Religious Sisters of Mercy take  vows of poverty, chastity, obedience, and service so they can be completely free to go where the need is and provide those they serve with a profound encounter with Jesus Christ as He lifts each of us out of our misery. I was accepted to the community on June 28, 2019, but I must pay off my student loans before entrance. I am four out of seven children so my parents were not able to contribute financially to my education. I graduated with $93,000 of debt and, after working two jobs and living frugally for the past seven years, I have brought that amount down to $42,000. If the Holy Spirit has prompted you while reading this testimony, your prayers and financial support will be gratefully received as I strive to follow God’s call and promise to keep you in prayer as well.
