Help Amy (Glamorous Threads) recover
Donation protected
Many of you from the Horse Show community know Amy Engleskirger as “Glamorous Threads Amy”. She has supplied the hunt seat classes with stunning show shirts and coats for the past several years. Lost a button off your hunt coat before your class? Amy to the rescue! Need an updated collar or new shirt due to last minute horse slobbers? Amy is your gal! Well, Amy is in need of being rescued by you now. Monday, October 18th, while practicing her Congress showmanship pattern with her mare Heather, a hoof caught her boot and Amy fell hard in the dirt. She hobbled back to the camper but her pain kept her from classes on Tues. She was no better by class time Thurs nor by Saturday, her final chance to salvage her 2021 Congress dreams. Things got worse Saturday evening and Amy ended up in the ER at St Ann’s hospital where she was diagnosed with a displaced fracture of the ball of the femur! She was in the OR at 0730 Sunday morning where a total hip replacement was necessary due to the damage done. Amy has a lengthy rehab facing her and her plans to travel to Florida for the winter show circuits are put on hold.
As you probably can guess-being self employed and in the horse business, Amy-like many other horse professionals, has no health insurance. Her medical expenses from this surgery will be overwhelming. Amy’s partner in crime-Eric Hardesty, is still battling back from his medical expenses following his tragic truck accident which fractured his neck a couple of years ago on his way home from a horse show in Michigan(which Amy observed from her truck behind him as his truck flew over the side of a bridge.). If you have the heart to help, please give what you can to help out. You can come to Amy’s rescue this time. If Amy has touched your show life, show her you care with a donation. I know she will appreciate every effort to help! With everyone’s help, we can get her back on her feet, both literally and financially.
