Help Amy Macke's Healing

Amy's life revolves around family, faith & friends. One of her greatest joys is spending time with her young grandson. Amy has overcome many challenges in life. She handles herself with grace, dignity, optimism and cheer.

October 2 Amy's bright light was temporarily dimmed when she fell into a diabetic coma exacerbated by a major lung infection. Thankfully Amy is now awake & shining her light.

Update November 10: Amy was released from the hospital last week. She is receiving home health care. She is weak & needs her rest. (from Julie Rose)

As we know, a long hospital stay brings many challenges. There is loss of income and hospital charges not covered by health insurance. Her devoted husband has missed many hours of work. Her son, two daughters and grandson have had their lives upended.

I am hoping we can help Amy's emotional healing by easing some of the financial challenges. Your prayers are highly appreciated and Amy is very thankful for the kindness extended to her and her family.

UPDATE: 11/6/23

We have updated Amy’s journey on social media posts but not here. It has been over a year now and Amy still needs help. She just had major lung surgery. It seems to be a success! They only had to remove 20% of her lung. The pain is extreme as they had to separate her ribs during the procedure. It was a week long hospital stay this time. She is home now recovering. More details are on her facebook. She has a recovery time of 8-12 weeks and is homebound for this first month. She will have an in home nurse and pt weekly. As you can imagine, it is stressful without working for this length of time. She is anxious to be healed totally soon and get to be with her family and friends which includes a new granddaughter! We are asking for help not only for daily expenses, but for home mold testing. We want to be sure there is nothing that can affect the health of anyone especially Amy.
