Help Kristin Thrive as an Artist

My work often focuses on the interplay of light and water. I hope to explore personal experience of nature's healing presence, and I invite viewers to connect with the transcendent beauty I observe and to cherish it with me. I use watercolor, acrylic, oil pastel and oil paint.

I am very passionate about experiencing nature, and about helping others and loving. I believe that loving and accepting yourself and your community, and protecting nature, are ways to bring about personal and transgenerational healing which in turn can help society. Painting is my gentle way of giving daily prominence to the silent and omnipresent presence of nature. I wish that life were more simple, that each were able to connect with nature in a private and sincere way without all the extra things. However, societally speaking, it is very difficult to give daily preeminence to such experiences because of the high cost of everything which now so many people are bound by and has me worried about making ends meet. It can be difficult to sustain a regular artistic practice. Please help support me. I really want to be able to support myself with the creation of art, as it feels like the purpose of my life.

A few goals that I have:

1. Explore traditional oil painting glazing techniques.

2. Make at least 3 plein air paintings a week.

3. Continuously study sunrises

4. Procure a fine art printer

5. Bring local outdoor art classes to my neighborhood.

6. Hold online, donation based art groups that include art history talks.
