Help an Incredible Man - Bill Fleck
Donation protected
Bill Fleck is an incredible man. Husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, friend, and professional. Bill and his high school sweetheart, Rosemarie, spent 75 years together and were married for over 71 of them.
He has been a member of his current parish for 67 years and in that time served on several parish boards. Bill served in the Marine Reserves before he and Rosemarie raised their eight children. He served his community for decades with Dane County, serving many of those years as the county’s Zoning Administrator.
At almost 92, Bill has been known all his life for his fair, compassionate, straight-forward, common-sensical approach, with a dash of idealism that allows him to aim for better things and fight for his family, friends, and community.
The last 10 months have been tough for Bill. In December 2019, Bill lost his only sister, June, to cancer. In February this year, Bill lost his last remaining brother, Jerry, to Alzheimer’s. In April this year, Bill lost his youngest son, John, to COVID-19. And, in July, he lost his beloved Rosemarie.
If all of this was not enough, when things seemed to be settling down for Bill, he fell and broke his hip in several places while training with his new companion dog, Lexi.
Yesterday, Bill underwent a successful full-hip-replacement surgery. He is recovering in hospital and Bill’s nurses tell his family he is doing very well. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 protocols, Bill’s family cannot be with him to cheer him on in person.
Bill’s rehab will be challenging, too. Determined, Bill says he is willing and able to do whatever it takes to get back on his feet again. His doctors agree he can do it. He has given a lot over the years and still has a lot more to give.
While he is strong and a fighter, Bill could use some extra help, support, and kindness for all the expenses associated with his upcoming rehab, homecare, house modifications, care for his companion dog, and all the other challenges he will face in the weeks and months ahead.
We are thankful for any support you may be able to provide. If you prefer to mail a check, please send it to Dane County Credit Union 2160 Rimrock Rd. Madison, WI 53713. Please be sure to write "Suffix 15" in the memo line.
If you are unable to donate, please pray for Bill, his family, caregivers, friends, and share this link.
Thank you. And, get better Bill!!!
