Help The Fight for Mark Nunemaker
Donation protected
I am Ashley Palomo, born and raised in the Outer Banks by my loving parents, Mark and Terri Nunemaker. My sisters, Amber Dodge and Tanya Hill, and myself are reaching out to our community to help raise money for my dad and his fight with cancer. No donation is too small as any bit can help reduce some of the added financial stress/burden and allow my dad to focus on healing and recovery so he can continue being a part of his 8 grandkids lives and watch them cross milestones like their first steps all the way to their graduation days and more.
Many know my dad has grown up on the outer banks his whole life and raised his family here. His family owned and operated Nunemaker Seafood and he has supported so many local businesses by providing fresh seafood from his commercial crabbing and shrimping. He also owned and operated Custom Woodwork which many have had their kitchens, bathrooms, etc. so meticulously built and/or repaired by him. My dad is a known local fixture of the outer banks and so my sisters and I are reaching out for help on his behalf.
As some may know, my dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer about 6 months ago. He has undergone 2 surgeries since then and will begin chemo treatment soon. He is being treated by the Duke medical and cancer facilities which are the some of the best which is great and the prognosis sounds promising; however, the expenses are continuing to build up. With surgeries, my dad hasn’t been able to work. Many locals who know my family know his main line of work is in commercial crabbing and shrimping where my parents make most of thier income to make it through the year on the OBX. This year my parents couldn’t crab due to my dads cancer and necessary treatments so without having income and medical bills growing, I am asking for our community, which he has been a part of his whole life, to reach out and help by donating towards my dads medical bills and expenses.
Please share this with others to spread the word and keep my family in your thoughts and prayers as they face the infamous cancer that seems to be plaguing so many we care about. Any donation is greatly appreciated to help an obx native family in need. Help my dad fight his battle and continue to enjoy his days with his daughters, their families, and his amazing grandkids.
