Hi! My name is Madison Swart and I'm a photojournalist in NYC. I was covering an action for Palestine when unexpected rain started to downpour and it broke my camera! It caused water damage and battery corrosion :(
I don't get paid for any of my photography or video work. I do it because I love the community, the people I photograph and the work that I do. I could really use some help to get my camera fixed so I can continue to document!
My camera is my life. I take a lot of care to keep it in good shape - you may have seen me running around with a little umbrella attachment on it! But this downpour took me by surprise and I can't afford to get it fixed.
