Help Ana and the Garza Family

Hello Family and Friends.

It is with great sadness I announce that I have lost the Love of my life, the mother to my boys. She lost her battle to gastric cancer today with me, my son Mikey II, my sister Amanda and my good friend Norma Aguilera at her bed side. She was a wonderful wife, a great Mother and friend to many. She was surrounded by many friends and family these past few weeks as she fought bravely.

Thank you to everyone who supported us emotionally, spiritually and financially for the last 3 years while she battled bravely. Without you, she wouldn't have been able to fight as long.

Hello everyone.

I'm fighting back tears as I write this to let everyone know that Annie's time with us is coming to an end. She has been battling gastric cancer for 3 years now. She has been in the hospital for 2 weeks and hasn't been able to get better. Unfortunately there is nothing more the Dr.s can do for her. Now it's just a matter of a few days time before her body shuts down. Last week was her birthday, which I was hoping to celebrate at home, but unfortunately, she spent it in ICU.

Annie was the best thing that ever happened to me. I met her thanks to my friends mister Q (snake), Gilberto Aguilera and Norma Aguilera. We were married in the summer of 2000 with friends and family in my back yard in a surprise wedding. Then a year later, we married in church and ALL of our friends and family came to show us love. She blessed me with 2 wonderful sons, Mikey II and Julian.

I want to thank my family in Texas and cousins in Patterson area for taking her in and loving her enough to make her family.

I also want to thank all the Dr.s and nurses at the Leonard Cancer center and Mission hospital for all their hard work on helping her fight this as long as possible, and making her time in the hospital as comfortable as possible.

I met Ana and Michael Garza ~12 years ago at Don Juan Avila Elementary School, in Aliso Viejo, CA. Her son, Mikey and my son, Ryan were in a 1st/2nd grade combo class. Mikey and Ryan played Charlie Brown and Linus in a school play. Ana has another son, Julian, who is 13 years old and a 7th grader at Don Juan Avila Middle School. We have been friends with the family all these years, breaking bread together and staying in contact.

Two years ago, Ana Garza was diagnosed with stomach cancer. She had surgery and is unable to eat, she can only receive nutrients intravenously. Ana's cancer spread to her ovaries requiring surgery and she receives chemotherapy through the cancer center at Mission Viejo Hospital. She has good days and bad days, has such a positive attitude and is putting her life in God's loving arms.

The family is in need of funds for the treatment Ana is receiving, and the medical costs they have incurred. Ana's worried about the bills piling up and the stress on the family as she fights for her life.

It takes a lot of courage for a woman and family to reach out for assistance and help. That is why I am asking for your help for this family today.

My heart goes out to Ana, especially on the days I take her communion, she is so gracious. She lives today to be there for her family, especially her two children.

Please be generous and help the Garza family. If you are unable to provide monetary funds, perhaps you would consider bringing the family a meal.
