Help Ana Heal and Rebuild Her Life

On November 30, my older sister, Ana, and I were involved in an ATV accident in Plaster City. Going to the desert and riding ATVs has always been a huge part of our lives, and we never imagined something like this would happen to us. Ana, who was driving at the time, lost control of the vehicle, and it flipped multiple times. While we both made it out alive, Ana sustained a traumatic injury—a severe amputation of her four left hand fingers.

She is currently at UC San Diego Hospital’s trauma unit, undergoing numerous surgeries. So far, Ana has had four reconstructive surgeries and still has many more to go. Despite the challenges, her strength and determination are incredible.

Ana has been a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for two years and just recently became a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). She worked tirelessly through her graduate program, and as of this week, she was officially a graduate of Baylor University. It is heartbreaking that, due to this accident, she will be unable to attend her Master’s Degree Graduation.

Ana has always been passionate about helping both children and adults with speech and language disorders, and she’s dedicated her career to improving the lives of others. Unfortunately, due to the severity of her injuries, she is unable to work for the foreseeable future as she focuses on recovery, including extensive occupational and rehabilitation therapy.

At this time, we are asking for any support from our loved ones and community to help Ana through this incredibly difficult period and to alleviate the financial stress that this unexpected tragedy has placed on her.

We want to take a moment to thank God for protecting us and for the strength He has given us throughout this journey. With His help, we know we will get through this.
