Help Anadwo Waakye by Mukasechic

Hello my name is Nana Araba Wilmot and I’m a Chef and close friend of Jay aka Mukasechic of Anadwo Waakye in East Legon, Ghana. Last Sunday July 23rd at 11:47pm my dear friend received a random call that a car had hit her shack at Shiashie @anadwowaakye_by_mukasechic_ and had run off. The driver of the white Elantra car who was speeding recklessly drove into the shack and reversed, almost hitting a security guard and a lady in the process.
For the past 3 years, Anadwo Waakye in East Legon has been there for all of us. Comforting our bellies after a long day of work, the starting point to a night out with friends or for some of us the first thing we eat fresh off the plane coming back home - all while enticing us with their Brunch trays, Catering and weddings - when you go around town everyone knows Mukasechic and her Waakye!
From the time I've known Jay, I have seen up close just how much she loves her work and the people she meets from it. As a Culinary Instructor/Historian and Chef, her love and passion for her work have inspired many to learn more about Ghanaian food and indigenous ingredients. Inspiring a new generation of women, Jay began her new series "Beyond the Taste" on Instagram, in which she celebrated and interviewed Women behind the food we love so much. Seeing this series develop, I could see how much it was changing Jay. Empowering women and telling their stories, equipping them with the tools or resources to do for themselves, started a whole new vision for Jay.
I too was inspired by her series, and in return would love to share that same energy to my dear sister Jay. To know her is to love her, and in the time I've known Jay aka Mukasechic, I have seen how selfless and hardworking she truly is. For someone to recklessly destroy her livelihood, her work, her passion - its not easy o
I'm so proud of her for her resilience in defying the odds and getting back to business to serve the public as the investigation continues, but she needs our help. We’re turning to you, our community, for donations to help with signage costs, painting, and re-lighting for the new wooden shack. Hopefully, if the goal of $5,000 is exceeded all proceeds will be able to invest in her project Culinary 4 Social Change, a nonprofit organization providing incredible opportunities for unskilled women to unlock their potential and transform their lives through the power of food. THANK YOU FOR READING AND THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THIS DYNAMIC WOMAN!
with LOVE,
