Help Anas & Reem Escape Gaza war: A New Start Beyond Gaza

It's heart-wrenching to think just how cruel this war has been to us. It changed our lives forever, psychologically, physically and emotionally.

My name is Anas, from Gaza, 25 years old, I'm a dentist and newly engaged to Reem just 5 days before the war started.

We lost everything we had. My family's house, Reem family's house, my work, including the apartment where we planned to begin our married life together. Reem, was doing her last year in English literature, Now she won’t be able to pursue her dream to graduate and get a master's and PhD degree in English. Schools and universities have become more of a shelter than a place of academic success in Gaza.

I am 25 and have survived 5 destructive wars within that time. Leaving Gaza would help me to have the basic rights any human in this world must have. I dream of pursuing my master's in Maxillo facial surgery and earning enough to start a family. I just want to provide a safe place, an academic education, and a place for work, something that we will never be able to have in Gaza.

When it comes to my family, Mom and Dad put in a lot of effort to raise and educate us while working for government organizations. Unfortunately, they lost their home, where they had invested all their savings. The school where Mom worked now serves as a refugee camp, and Dad continues to work in the remaining healthcare facilities in our area.

I have two sisters; Ansam and Maram, and three brothers; Ayman, Usamah, and Mohammed, and I'm desperately seeking a way to help all my family members escape this war. The cost of leaving Gaza for Egypt is $5000 for adults and $2500 for children. This fundraiser is our last hope for a new beginning. Initially, we aim to raise $10,000 to evacuate me and Reem. Afterward, we'll continue fundraising to help the rest of my family evacuate.
