Help Anastasia survive and thrive.

Hello, my name is Athena and i am fundraising for my new niece. my cousin gave birth to premature twins in December 2021. a boy Eric and a girl Anastasia. it was a rough start as Eric's lungs were a little under developed but he has improved and is now at home in the care of his loving parents and older sister. for Anastasia things have taken a drastic turn. she was born healthily and was thriving for about a week in the first hospitals NIC unit, when her health declined rapidly and was transported to one of the best hospitals in Canada- separated from her twin. it was in the new hospital that she has under gone surgery to check her intestines and bowels, was given a platelet transfusion as hers were almost non-existent. it was after this that the labs came back and her mother (my cousin) was informed that she had Ecole poisoning. within 3 hours of having the infection it was taking over her brain and she had become septic.

Anastasia has since had multiple seizers and will continue having them for her life. she will be undergoing another surgery on jan 18th to implant stunts into her ventricle veins in her brain as they are not releasing the fluid that is constantly building up due to this infection.

as she is still so small the dr. can not determine wither she will ever be able to walk and talk as she grows. Anastasia will always be the sick kid in the family, she will need extra support and help most likely for her life.

as my cousin currently only has a 1 income house hold and bills piling up, the focus for my cousin and her husband should be on their children, and trying to be a strong enough to handle the weight of what is happening to their daughter.

i am doing this fundraiser to help Anastasia have a home with little stress over how food or heat will be supplied, the funds will be used now to help with the household bills and for the future such as: long term medical and education care. this means if nurses, medication, medical supplies, additional educational help such as tutors or special schools are needed. we do not know the extent of how this will effect her lively hood, but i want to try and provide the tools and resources needed to give her the best way of life that she can get. To help her parents and siblings have her home soon.

i cannot explain what this would me for myself or my family. with the current state of the world we live in i cannot be there in person for my family. any help i can provide will mean that even though i am not present i am still giving and caring for my family and this precious little girl. it means that when able, i will be able to hold and help. i am so humbled and grateful for any help and assistance that she might get from this.
