Help and Hope for Joshua

Donation protected
On June 15, 2020, four-year-old Joshua Dasilva found his way outside and into the family’s above-ground pool before being discovered minutes later by his mother, unconscious. She immediately ran crying out for help and with good fortune, a family passing by stopped and the mother initiated CPR until help arrived. He was transported to Nashoba Valley Medical Center and then airlifted to a Boston hospital, where he has remained in a coma since.

There is a misconception that drowning only happens when you are swimming. Drowning isn’t splashing and yelling. It is silent, and it takes SECONDS. It happens quickly. We don’t know what lured Joshua to go outside alone. What we do know is that his brain is not functioning but he is breathing on his own. Until his brain regains activity he will remain in the hospital, and that expectation is for at least the next 7 months. With that long road ahead, the family needs help.

They need help paying the hospital bills, as well as all of the regular bills that continue to arrive. They are unable to work because they need to be with Joshua. We don’t want this tragedy to become even more difficult for this family so that’s why we’re asking for help on their behalf.

Please, if you can find it in your heart to help the Dasilva’s during such a horrific time, no amount is too small and they would be forever grateful.

With all our thanks and gratitude,
Jenn and Sean Cunningham
