Help and prayer for good friend Scott Skinner

Hi my name is Matt. Some of you might know me as DJ Vinel Mix.

I am starting this fundraising effort for my great friend Scott Skinner.

First and foremost Scott is an amazing single Dad to two incredible girls, Maddie and Lilly.

After having to cancel their trip to Chicago because of COVID. Scott was home getting ready for Christmas morning with his girls and walked out to check the mail to see if the girls may have gotten some Christmas cards. While he was out there he greeted a couple with a "Merry Christmas " and asked the couple how their Christmas Eve was going. They stated that they were homeless and that they were just walking around to stay warm.

Well, Scott being Scott he invited them in their home to warm themselves and some food up.

After 30 or 40 minutes he still had some wrapping and cleaning before the girls came over in the morning.

That's when things went sideways.

As he was walking the male out his garage the guy said "I know where you live now" Scott asked if that was a threat and before he knew what was going on a punch glanced off his should. The guy stated "that's how you're going to die tonight" and took off running.

Unbeknownst to Scott he had been slashed across his neck and chest.

Being by himself he ran inside to check the damage and saw in the mirror it was bad. Went to swipe his phone and it was completely dead.

Knowing he had been cut badly he ran to his neighbors who were able to call 911 and take care of him to EMS got there.

The ambulance rushed him to the ER where a team of 20 was waiting to rush him into emergency surgery.

Scott said the last thing he told the surgeon before going under was "just keep me alive cause I've got 2 little girls to live for"

He spent Christmas coming out of surgery and laying in a hospital bed without his girls.

I was going to start this a week or so ago but I've been recovering from double pneumonia myself.

Scott is a great friend of mine and I know he has meant something to alot of you out there. I want to send this out to as many folks as I can and maybe you can as.

The hefty bills are starting to pour in and being a personal trainer it's been slow going getting back to work for him.

If you can find it in your heart to help that would really help him start off the year on a more positive. If you can't maybe say a prayer for him and the girls that they can get back to a normal life.
