Help Andrew get Home from Hospital
Donation protected
On Tuesday, January 21st, Andrew suffered a series of seizures and was rushed to the nearest hospital in Bali, where he was immediately sedated and intubated in the ICU, while doctors ran a battery of tests.
While we're still waiting to fully understand the cause (and ramifications) of some of these test results, they did confirm viral encephalitis (which causes swelling/inflammation in the brain) and pneumonia, both of which he is currently being treated for. Andrew is still in and out of consciousness, remains disoriented and confused, and is still dealing with seizure symptoms, therefore he will remain in the ICU for at least the next few days while the doctors continue to treat him for ongoing seizures, brain swelling and pneumonia.
As luck would have it, this occurred just a couple of days after Andrew’s existing medical insurance expired and prior to him obtaining his new medical insurance. Your generous donation will help with the overwhelming hospital costs and to allow his family to focus on travelling to be by his side as we navigate this difficult situation. We will update this site as more details are available.
Please, if you have a moment, share this story. Andrew is beloved by many and is larger than life. He's also extremely proud and modest; while he'll be eternally grateful for all of your love and support, we suspect he'll also be overwhelmingly humbled. Our wish is to give Andrew the treatment required to enable him to be home as soon as possible. Any assistance in this will be greatly appreciated
With love and gratitude,
The family and friends of Andrew.
