Help Andrew Pratico and AP Photography
A friend of mine and local small business owner of AP Photography has fallen on some pretty bad luck which can only be described as “anything that can go wrong will.”
From covid restrictions in the spring restricting all in studio sessions, to a death in the family, his primary computer used for photo editing biting the dust, and a house fire forcing him to relocate his studio he just can’t seem to catch a break. To top it off his landlord is requesting that him and his family vacate in January so they can take back their home. Completely their right, but adding expense to an all ready very lean year.
As One of the most hard working people I know works seven days a week most weeks of the year to provide for his family.
Andrew is always first to lend a hand when someone he knows needs it and I’ve seen him organize several things like care packages for the homeless of Langley last Christmas season.
I fear the loss of work due to things far beyond his control as well as mounting expenses for things for which he is at no fault, could result in the loss of his business I’ve seen him work so hard to build over the last few years. I can’t stand the thought of such a hard working genuine kind hearted person not being able to provide for himself or the people that depend on him.
I’ve put this in the community and neighborhood category because while the money is primarily for living and moving expenses, I’ve added some extra to help keep his business afloat while he’s certain to continue to lose clients without his proper studio he worked so hard to create. Replace his computer, secure a new studio space outside his home since I believe he’s having trouble finding aplace big enough to live and work. Etc. I believe him and his business is a great addition to the community and many of his satisfied customers would agree.
edit: He is also going through separation with his wife and had moved back in with his parents so his partner can have space. Which I originally left out to keep his personal business private, but he insists on transparency as moving to another place to live and work was likely to happen anyway, so I’ve included it. I don’t think it should have any bearing on whether or not to donate, its just another thing in a long run of bad luck. In addition I would like to state that Andrew was completely unaware of my intentions to do this and I had to convince him to accept the help of those who are willing.
I’ll be sharing this on some community pages. Anything helps, even just a few dollars.
