Help Andrew through his life of illness & give him happiness

Hello caring people of the world,

My name is Candice Hobbs and I am creating this fundraiser for my dear friend Andrew.

Andrew is a 41 year young man living in St.John’s, Newfoundland who is living with multiple terminal & chronic illnesses that have impacted his life severely.

He has been diagnosed (by the greatest of specialists that medicine can provide. His Hematologist/oncologist/cellular therapy specialist, GI/Liver Specialist, doctor of internal medicine, Neurologist, and surgeon - if it comes to that) with idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura (ITP) a rare platelet disorder, liver disease, fibromyalgia (a horrific neurological disorder which causes seizures, intense migraines and chronic pain that covers his entire body), and currently undergoing diagnostics for his Cancer to find a true diagnosis & prognosis!

He also suffered from years of addiction a long long long time ago (which in the past has even opened his home to help those get off drugs and into proper treatment facilities all out of his own pocket and goodness of his amazing heart)

This mistreatment of his body in his youth has lead him to Severe Depression & panic disorder.

He’s doing amazing with the aid of these wonderful doctors.

He hailed from Channel - Port aux Basques where he had a wonderful studio called KROMA - where he performed amazing hair (he used to be an international educator for Schwarzkopf Professional in London, England) did body piercings/modification and the most beautiful of tattoos that are truly art.

Because of all the the pain, the depression, addiction, panic attacks on the hour, his other diseases he had no idea about and was about to throw in the towel.

Until, a local MP of the liberal party (who’s hair he did for a couple of years) got him in to St.John’s to see the specialists here in St.John’s (because she saw how he suffered) in 2019 - the project of Andrew’s health commenced!

Now, after closing his studio that was open from 2017 - 2022, Andrew had to lose everything and be left with nothing and the few items like his MacBook Pro, violin, piano, iPad Pro, cell phone, all of his tattoo equipment/inks/machines and hair tools. Everything he owned.

Andrew moved to St. John’s to be with the specialists 24/7 and unfortunately HAD TO SELL THESE ITEMS when he arrived to St John’s just to keep himself fed, in an apartment, phone & bills, some prescriptions, and healthy food.

Unfortunately the maximum Andrew Gets to live off for 2 weeks on disability here in Newfoundland is $260.38 (no one can live on that)

His phone bill alone is over $150 a month. Andrew has had to eat meals at the Gathering place (A Local homeless shelter & drop in Centre), and local food banks for groceries (which only supply carbs and processed canned/bagged foods)

Andrew’s not able to get ahead with his health at all because he cannot afford healthy food like fruits & vegetables, proteins and healthy fats so his health is on the decline both mentally and physically. He feels he has no purpose in life anymore and almost wants to give up!

He would love to be able to go back to work but cannot afford his tools / equipment, clothing (only has one pair of jeans) his musical instruments back to keep him happy mentally. He misses his piano (visits local pubs to play theirs to get practice in) his violin and extension of his arm and his everything really. IF ANYONE HAS AN UPRIGHT ACCOUSTIC PIANO (preferably Yamaha , & tuned, stays in tune, excellent condition for a professional to practice and play daily (same with other instruments) OR A PRO VIOLIN , CELLO , BOWS, they do not use anymore and would like to donate them here to his house in St.John’s, ANDREW WOULD BE EXTREMELY HUMBLED & PROBABLY BE IN TEARS (I am more more than happy to accept it and set up a delivery and all of that stuff with/without him in his behalf) because that is a big part of his life he lost! (But about it the best person to reach out to would be Andrew himself as he knows what he’s used to playing and all of that stuff . I have no clue hahaha)

Great treatment for him would be going to a gym for his fibromyalgia, doing physiotherapy also yoga, but cannot afford the memberships.

If anyone or stores can donate memberships, items or clothing, fragrances (he loved to look and smell good) to help him that would be amazing. Or, a generous donation to help him get his life together. Every little bit helps!

He used to play pipe organ in church and even helped start the men’s choir at St.James Church in Port aux Basques for the annual Christmas performance.

He donated so so so much to charity in his life , his time , his money , his products , his own food and clothes.

He has the heart of an angel but the pride of a lion. Won’t ask for help for himself. So I took it upon myself to do this for him. He deserves to be happy and healthy.

So please look deep into your hearts/souls and donate to Andrew to give him a chance to start over and succeed at life!
