Help Andy VanElzen Heal and Rebuild

Donation protected
Many of you may know about Andy’s recent
medical crisis and the long road to recovery he now faces.
If you know the VanElzen family, I am sure you have been blessed by their selflessness and genuine care for their friends and family.
It has been truly inspiring to watch as Deb, Gwen and Liam have rallied around Andy demonstrating their intense family bond and faith in Jesus.
If you are able, please consider a monetary donation, as their medical bills mount from an extended hospital and rehabilitation stay.

Deb has recently posted the following update on Facebook:
On November 20 Andy started exhibiting with upper back & neck pain, flu-like symptoms and the start of some neurological issues. After x-rays, CT & MRI leading up to Saturday, November 23 I took him to ER. He was diagnosed with an epidural abscess, septic, meningitis & pneumonia. Emergency surgery was done to clean out the infection from C1 to T4. The infection was so bad that it was compromising his spinal cord. He was in very bad shape. He was left paralyzed on the right side of his body and extremely weak on his left side.

He spent 10 days in ICU, 4 days on med surge floor all at summa Akron City hospital and 1 week at Cleveland Clinic Edwin Shaw facility for intensive inpatient rehabilitation. We do not know the final prognosis for him but everyday he is getting stronger and is moving the right side more and more. He is not presenting like a typical spinal cord injury, it’s more like a stroke patient. Nonetheless, this facility has been beyond amazing with his care and will continue to be here until he gets the blessing to leave. Rehab will continue for weeks along with IV antibiotics at home.
