Helping hands for Angela’s battles
Donation protected
**UPDATE** - we are going to start taking funds out of this go fund me account next Wednesday (September 30), to get to Ange in time for her operation!! The go fund me site will remain up and running until October 7 so if there are any further donations within that week (sept 30- oct 7) they will be transferred straight into her account. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU EVERYONE!
Let’s finish this last week of donations with a bang for Ange.
So it’s been decided, there is a Go Fund Me up and running for Angela! In all honesty, Ang is one of those rare people that is always smiling and full of life (no word of a lie… at 6.30am she is the most bubbly person in the room, I don’t know how). So much so that many people in her life are actually unaware she’s been battling cancer for 9 years...
She has been struggling silently with the deadly disease for too long and is now in desperate need of our help. The last thing a 2 time cancer patient needs to be worrying about is money!
Please help me help her! Anything and everything makes a huge difference.
Read her story below:
Hey everyone my name is Angela. I'm your average person that has confronted a few challenges in life, like all of us. Whether it be physical or mental challenges, or for cancer patients, both.
In 2011 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and many other treatments. Having almost made it to my 5 year hurdle, on my last appointment waiting to be told ‘I’d beaten breast cancer’ is when I was diagnosed with bone cancer.. I was given 5 years to live.
I then began intense radiation and once again many further treatments.
Over the past 9 years, whilst undergoing the many treatment plans I have still been working full time. This year however, my hip has gotten the better of me due to the direct radiation therapy to my sacrum, and I have had to cease work for the time being. The last 4 years my hip has been gradually deteriorating to the point of now being quite severe. Dressing myself, shaving my legs, basically anything that requires a bend at the hip I seriously struggle with.. shoes and socks are my worst enemy.
I've been on a public wait list to have my hip replaced, but I still have 1,500 other patients in front of me and am yet to been seen by an orthopaedic DR. I do not want to increase the pain meds, I just need my hip fixed. Not only has this affected me physically, but its really getting me down mentally. I want my job back, I want my fitness back, I really just want my life back..
My bone cancer has been stable for the last year now and I believe I will be here for years to come, regardless of the time frame I was given. The cancer couldn't keep me down, but the stupid hip sure is trying too and I’m accepting the fact that I‘ll need your help.
