UPDATE 4/16/22*****
Angie had a recent visit for her chemotherapy. The chemo is not working as hoped and there will be 4 more cycles to see if it does. It is really just buying time. Precious time. She is now planning to make a bucket list. We are grateful for all who have been so generous and appreciate any help you can give. <3
UPDATE*****
Chemo is rough for Angie, but I feel like there is progress! Unfortunately, my sister already has close to $10,000 in medical billing this year due to the high deductible and high cost of chemo. As always, any help is appreciated and I am grateful for all of you who have been so generous thus far!

Last year my sister had some small symptoms that could be related to colon cancer. Having the family history that we have she decided to schedule a colonoscopy. The colonoscopy had been rescheduled due to her back surgery until 1/13/2022.

Last year my sister had some small symptoms that could be related to colon cancer. Having the family history that we have she decided to schedule a colonoscopy. The colonoscopy had been rescheduled due to her back surgery until 1/13/2022.
The prep for the procedure made her extremely sick. The procedure didn’t last long as the doctor ran into a mass in the rectal/sigmoid area and could not get past that. The doctor spoke with her after surgery and said he had seen enough of them to know it was cancer. After much testing, it was determined that she has metastatic colorectal adenocarcinoma stage IV and has spread to her liver.
Without treatment, she has 4-6 months. Prognosis with chemo depends on how it works. Liver surgery is not an option as the lesions are scattered all through it. Chemo will start on 2/15/2022. As of now, she is healing from a bowel obstruction from the mass that caused them to have to do emergency surgery on 1/27/2022. She now has an ileostomy from that surgery. She will be going back and forth to the infusion center in Charlottesville every other week for 2-3 months for chemo and then surgery to remove the mass and then more chemo.
She has not worked since 1/11/2022 and can no longer work. She has applied for disability which is pretty much a given but takes up to 5 months to get. They are really having a hard time financially due to this. Their insurance has a very high deductible and co-pays and there is a need for so many medical supplies already. This has hit them so hard emotionally foremost as well as financially after she had just returned to work in November from her spinal fusion. Any help you can provide is much appreciated and your prayers are always appreciated and felt.
