Help Angela Build Her Family Program

I am raising funds to continue working on my passion of helping families become more aware of certain cues and be more connected with one another to help prevent the rising rates of depression and suicide around the world. Sometimes depression looks like a teen who has everything and has plenty of friends and yet what they yearn most is the connection and acceptance of their parents. My program is interactive and helps families learn how to be more patient of one another's differences and overcome obstacles in a shorter amount of time through implementing self-care habits sooner as opposed to later. Kids tend to mirror back to parents what is being shown to them based on our own behaviors and ways of reacting.

Together with Connie Chuy, this collaborative piece is created for shocking people from the matrix. Using clever and simplistic illustrations, this book stirs against the currents of the social norm with goals to awaken insight and critical thought of what is going on around you.

 

My goal is to raise funds to complete the book and build out the program with the accompanying workbook to shed light on how we communicate through verbal and non-verbal cues that have created misunderstandings and complacency in the relationships we have. In the past several years, since the pandemic, many people have gone through losses and these losses have put us all in a state of shock. Our thinking has also changed due to so much fear of uncertainty. 

My dream is to help individuals and families who are going through transitions in their life or recovering from health-related situations to connect to their emotions, process, and effectively communicate in a way where they are understood and know that they matter. Oftentimes when we have not been taught how to process and express our emotions, we shut down and come to conclusions about things. These conclusions can leave a long lasting impression on our life if not addressed sooner.

It is important to acknowledge and recognize our children’s experiences, and provide a safe space for them to express their thoughts and feelings without fear of being criticized. Our goal is to acknowledge and restore the power of one’s voice.



90 Days Empowering Families from Within  

-This program includes 12x (2.5 hours) 1-on-1 sessions first with parents then with the entire family.  

We look at how has the relationship with your closest loved ones have been and create solid boundaries that help with improve the below:

Better grades, improve good habits, have engaged conversations, clearer communication, understand one another, deeper connection, understand differences, quickly reconcile differences, healthy communication, effectively clear up miscommunication, enhance cognitive ability, and improve critical thinking.
