Help Angelica Mato Fight Stage 4 Cancer
Donation protected
When my brother and I moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, to begin our college journey, we never imagined that our new start would come with such heartbreaking news—our beloved mom, Angelica, was diagnosed with Stage 4 “Triple Negative” breast cancer. This rare and aggressive form of cancer has no standard or targeted treatment options.
Shortly after moving, we discovered something even more alarming. The home we had rented had dangerously high levels of magnetic fields—ranging from 80 mG to 100 mG—depending on the power usage of nearby homes. Our mom’s bedroom shared a wall with four electric meters, and every morning, she would wake up with an unusually high electrical charge. We used to laugh when sparks would fly as we kissed her goodbye, never realizing the potential harm she was exposed to every night.
We later learned that the landlord’s own mother had died of cancer while living in the same home—and had slept in the exact room my mom did. It’s impossible to say with certainty whether the prolonged exposure to such radiation triggered the return of her cancer, but the possibility haunts us. Unfortunately, we’ve found no legal support to pursue action against the power company, FPL, unless it involves a physical accident or clear injury caused by their equipment.
Thankfully, we’ve since moved into a different rental—also owned by the same landlord—but this home has been thoroughly tested and shows no abnormal magnetic field levels. Still, the damage have already been done.
A recent PET scan revealed large tumors in her lower back and liver. She’s been undergoing oral chemotherapy and receiving targeted radiation to her lower back, which has helped reduce the tumors in that area. However, the cancer continues to spread aggressively, and these treatments only slow it down—they do not stop it.
Worse yet, her most recent bloodwork shows that her immune system is severely compromised. Her white blood cell count has dropped, and her bone marrow may no longer be producing them properly due to the cancer’s spread. Just two days ago, she required a platelet transfusion during an emergency room visit.
Now, we are placing our hope in a holistic treatment approach.
Angelica has been referred to a holistic doctor in Miami who offers a therapy plan we believe could give her a real chance at recovery.
The treatment is intensive and comes at a high cost. The first three weeks require frequent travel to Miami and will total about $10,800. Following that, she’ll continue a 90-day at-home program, which costs approximately $1,000—not including the cost of travel and other supplements and vitamins.
My mom is one of the strongest, kindest, and most faith-filled people I know. She is a loving mother, a devoted friend, and a fighter in every sense of the word. We believe in her strength and in the power of community—and that’s why we’re reaching out for your help.
Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to giving Angelica the care she desperately needs. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing her story or lifting her up in your prayers. Your kindness, love, and support mean more than words can express.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us in this fight.
