Help Angelina and Brendan Support Koda’s Medical Care

My name is Angelina. I have two dogs, Hunter, who is an 8-year-old Portuguese Water Dog, and Koda, a 2-year-old Cavapoo. The pain I have felt these past few days has been so heavy. My first dog, Hunter, has been suffering from hip dysplasia his whole life, and we are now at the end stages. His pain every night has made him restless and has taken a toll on my family, witnessing him being unable to lay down or go up and down the stairs. I've had to carry him most places; he's about 76 lbs. We have been in and out of the animal hospital trying to get any treatment we can to help ease him through this. I've been getting up between 4/5 a.m. to get him his medication, but barely sleeping because of his restlessness.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, I must have been so tired and left the medication bottle within reach. I came home yesterday to give him his medication to find the bottle empty and opened. Frantically, we rushed both Hunter and my 2-year-old puppy, Koda, to the hospital, to find out Koda ate through his entire bottle. Over 175x the amount for her weight. She was transferred to another emergency animal hospital to be treated through dialysis to help filter the protein in her blood that the toxin binds to. Or, she would most likely go into organ failure and die. This has been the absolute worst few days of my life. Saving her was not even a question, but the financials are going to be a struggle for Brendan and me. The only reason why I wasn’t home was to go to lunch with my mom to help get my mind off of one sick dog, and I came home to having another fighting for her life. Koda is still in the hospital, but the doctor said she is doing well, and I pray to God my two babies will be okay ❤️‍
