Help Angie Recover From Her Life-Threatening Fall

Hello there, our names are Ethan and Andrew Ahlbrecht. We are creating this page for our mother, Angela Estby. She recently had an awful fall on the ice outside of her home on Monday evening, which resulted in her spending an extended amount of time in the bitter, below freezing Minnesota temperatures due to being left unconscious. Angie’s neighbor thankfully spotted her outside and was able to call an ambulance to pick her up and bring her to the emergency room at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, MN. When she arrived, she was hypothermic with pneumonia and a swollen chest cavity and throat, preventing her from getting enough oxygen. The hospital team had no choice but to intubate her to assist in her breathing and warm her body up to a safe temperature as quickly as they were able to.

Angie is still currently on life support until the swelling in her chest and throat subside. We are beyond grateful that she has survived this horrible accident and appreciate everything the medical staff has done and continues to do to save her life.

She will unfortunately now have hefty medical bills to pay for this tragic fall, and many future medical bills as she will have lasting injuries requiring a lot of work to recover, including physical rehab and therapy. In addition to these significant, unexpected expenses, she will be out of work for an unknown period until she is able to return to her job. We are asking for financial support to help ease the stress surrounding this. Any amount will be appreciated if you are able to help.
