Help Anita’s Recovery
Donation protected

Update: May 20, 2023 from Anita's mom. Surgery was a little more challenging than expected. Anita may need a pacemaker but we will know more in about 5 days. Anita is having trouble sleeping. They took her chest tubes out and she is breathing better but still struggling some. The nurse gave her insulin and a diuretic and put the CPAP mask back on. Anita's heart is bruised and inflamed because they had to cut it at the bottom to get the larger valve in but the doctor said her heart is doing what it is supposed to so she may not need the pacemaker.
Please continue to pray for my sweet Anita❤️. She is having the struggle of her life right now . She is strong and her heart is doing fantastic. We are fighting everything else and try to find the happy balance for her recovery. God bless all our friends and families. We love y’all , Lee

Hi, My name is Kelcie Dittrick, my friend Sheila Ralston and I are fundraising for our best friend Anita Humphrey’s upcoming surgeries. For those of you who don’t know, Anita has a bicuspid aortic valve, a murmur, a click, mitral valve regurgitation and aortic stenosis. They discovered it when she was 18 and have been watching the stenosis. When she needs surgery, Anita has to get clearance from her cardiologist to make sure the aortic valve can handle being put under anesthesia. Anita was recently told she needed a hysterectomy and she scheduled the routine echocardiogram so she could get surgery clearance. Unfortunately,
she didn’t get it. Her aortic stenosis is at an extreme level so needs her aortic valve replaced before she can have her hysterectomy. They can do valve replacements through the groin these days but because Anita has a bicuspid valve and not a tricuspid valve, it will need to be performed via open heart surgery, which has about a 3 month recovery. Six weeks after the valve replacement, Anita can go in for the hysterectomy and heal from both, together.
For those that know Anita, you know she would do anything for anyone. She is one of the most caring, and genuine people I have ever met. She never asks for anything and is always the first to be there for everyone else.
Anita is scheduled for open heart surgery, May 18, 2023. We are kindly asking for help from family and friends to please help us get Anita through this difficult time. She will be out of work until the end of August. Our goal is to get Anita enough money to have a cushion so she can focus on healing.
